There were no major news announcements today so it was basically a full days trading and i made 11 trades in total - 6 winners & 5 losers. For today I’ll just list the times & the type of trade signal given by the Black Dog software and tomorrow with a bit more time hopefully i’ll include a couple of charts.

made 63 pips altogether today but even with the alarms i’ve got set up which mean i can walk away for 10 minutes at a time still found it hard to trade for the full session. think you do need to get away for an hour or 2 even if it means missing a couple of trades.

Nice day for Black Dog Forex with 2 winning trades - the first was an MTF3 signal on the 7.15 am candle with the eur/jpy and the second was a ‘hi/lo’ trade @ 2pm on the eur/usd - both for 20 pips each.

There was also an MTF3 signal on the gbp/usd @ 9.45am which went for 350 pips! it was too near a major news announcement to be a trade though.

2 trades today - 1st one was a winner on the eur/usd for 20 pips & in the afternoon there was a set up on the nzd/usd which turned out to be a loser for 7 pips.

Just 2 trades today - 1 at the beginning and 1 pretty much at the end of the day. The 1st trade was on the aud/usd but it could have been any of 3/4 pairs which had the same more or less perfect set up & the target was reached within a couple of candles. The 2nd trade was a ‘hi/lo’ on the usd/jpy when there was a pull back close enough to the 15 emas to warrant a trade.

In between there were some nice trades triggered by the high impact news release @ 3pm but again happy enough with 40 pips & would have been happy enough with 20 to be honest.

Just to let everyone who’s asked me for a copy of the back-testing that i’ll be getting it off to you asap but as i’m going back through 5 pairs to last July it may take a week or so to get finished.

Wanted to tighten up my trading with Black Dog before i started with the other currency pairs i’m going to use so i’ve been doing some back-testing with the slightly revised rules. Its nothing major really, just dropping one of the MACD histograms which i wasnt using to make any decisions anyway and only entering when the lines on the other MACD are in the right order.I’ll also be trading the ‘hi/lo’s’ as long as they fit all the existing criteria & i’ll put the revised rules i’ll be using up on here asap.

This should reduce the number of trade per pair but as i’ll now be looking at 5/6 pairs i’ll hopefully be getting more trades, with more factors stacked in my favour. Anyway onto today & not a great start with a 16 pip loss - would have been better but i stayed out of the markets @ high impact news time and missed out on a couple of nice trades. Rules are rules though & for the time being i’ll continue to stay out -   edit   ignore that nonsense - seems like i was looking at the 1st feb calendar all day- very professional! there we’rent any announcements today so a losing day should have been a winning day for all you competent traders out there.

No trading yesterday as it was Presidents Day in the US. Today the morning was quiet as there were a few high impact news announcements which kept me out of the markets from about 10-12. took a losing trade on the eur/usd for -9 pips and then a winner for +20. aud/usd just had the 1 trade which was a winner for +20 pips - chart below.

Didnt realise there was an early high impact news announcement at 7am this morning until i checked the forex factory site after the trade but it turned out ok with a straightforward 20 pips. red SES appeared and everything else was in the right place so entry placed @ 4 pips beyond lowest point of previous candle and that was that.

Started using just 2 pairs & a tighter set of rules on the 27th October and have just gone through 1000 pips. So thats 3 1/3 months - over 12 mths that would about 3,500 pips if it continues the same way, following just 2 pairs with a low risk strategy. I’m sure a couple of differently correlated pairs such as the yens or usd/chf would double that.

Classic BD set up on the eur/usd on the 11.45 candle which went through the 15 ema and then reversed. everything pointing in the right direction and it was an easy 20 pips - as you can see it went onto to make about 120 pips but more than happy with the 20.

Looked a bit quiet this morning on my pair - the aud/usd had a 100+ pip move overnight and was way too far away for the 15 for any trades - so i looked elsewhere and found a set up on the nzd/usd. i bailed out when it went to +15 as it looked to have run out of steam.

Hard work today with neither of the pairs spending much time outside of the 50’s channels & when they did they’d already gone too far to qualify for a trade. Checked the other pairs i keep an eye & there wasnt even a trade there amongst 6 other pairs. At least i wasnt losing money & hpefully see a bit more action tomorrow.
