Great start to the day for Black Dog this morning - in fact 5 out of the 6 currency pairs had ‘hi/lo’ set ups just prior to the 7.00 am candle and all 5 went onto be winning trades.  Theres no way, unfortunately, to get all 5 trades on and i only managed to set up orders for 3.

This morning was a strong case for setting a profit target and getting out when it was reached because it would have been all over pretty early today. 70 pips gained overall.

Results Friday 18th September

They say ignorance is no excuse and i’m not going to try to use it here because to be a pro trader you need to be aware of basics like it being 3rd Friday in the quarter with loads of contracts closing and the markets consequently being all over the place! Try to remember that one next quarter.

Anyway not a massive amount of damage done -30 pips.  Not to worry, i’m sure i’ll make it all back on Monday. (thats not me trying to keep a positive mental attitude by the way - i’m writing this on Monday evening and i did, in fact make 85 pips today!)

 Quick update from the Smarer Gambler service - i’m following ‘profit 2′ which is 5% of the bank being invested on each bet, hopefully compounding into a decent amount.

Gone through a bit of a rough patch but confident this service will turn it around. It has in the past looking at previous results.

The gbp/usd service had 2 losing trades on the 17th & 1 on the 16th which leaves this side of the service just 1 pip up since i started receiving the signals.  The eur/usd,  however, has made nearly 1000 pips since the start of August so hopefully between the 2 services we will be making a very healthy profit month on month.

Results for Black Dog Forex review 17/09

Bad day for the system today - said i was just going to start taking perfect set ups and trade for 30 pips but unfortunately ignored that today.  they were all technically trades but weren’t perfect by any means so ended up giving 45 pips back.

On an more positive note did some back testing on crude oil & gold using the new Black Dog MTF3 template on a 1hr chart and had some interesting results;

Gold produced 3690 pips from 5th March to date - which is about 140 pips a week.
Oil produced 3787 pips in the same period which works about 145 pips a week. The 1 hr chart requires longer stops obviously but it does find the big trends in these markets which can return 700 pips+.  Might look at the currencies on this time frame as well

These results were achieved with the MTF3 template plus the new MTF3 entry indicator and a set of stop loss and take profit targets which i have come up with taking into account the price range of the markets.

Nothing wrong with the hi/lo strategy because its produced a fantastic amount of pips in a relatively short space of time - its just that i’m also looking at different ways of using the software and wanted to let you know what i’d found.

Yet another profitable day for this software - keeps you safely out of the market when you shouldnt be in there most of the time. Another 20 pips in the bank. The stopping @ 30 strategy would have been done and dusted by 10am this morning with a nice early couple of trades on the aud/usd & 1 on the usd/jpy.

The chart below shows the new MTF3 Black Dog template plus an additional indicator which clearly flags up entry signals. Your exit point is down to your own trading style & judgement. This is the standard Black Dog strategy which most traders on the forum use with a lot of success apparently & not the ‘hi/lo’ strategy that i use. This new indicator comes with an audible alarm signal meaning you dont have to watch the charts constantly.
